Bush says God said…

    I think regardless of anything else, it was bad politics. Most of the American public will not understand or appreciate what Bush meant.

    As for God speaking to President Bush, that’s obviously between him and God. The first thing I do when I feel like God is speaking to me is to evaluate what God seems to be saying with respect to His principles and commandments (as given in the Bible). As we have been discussing in other posts, I think that everything President has ordered has been in alignment with Biblical principles (though I know Ariah and most readers disagree), so no problem there.

    The other potential issue I see is that it is not the President’s job to impose his beliefs on the country. BUT, that doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t seek God’s guidance in his decisions. I mean we should all be seeking God’s guidance in everything we do right? God has placed President Bush in authority (see Romans), so they are his decisions to make and I think he’s going about them the right way
