Future Posting

In an attempt to spread my post out through out the day (I’m not sure who will be a fan of this) I’m going to test the scheduled posting feature on my blog. This post should be viewable at 3:00AM CST on Friday. Probably nobody (but me) will be up to read it at that moment, but we are just trying the feature out.

And while I’m on it, does anyone like to get post through out the day, or do you just like reading them all at the end of the day in the email?

I’m officially addicted

After gaining some interest in the stock market, I discovered a interesting stock-market like game that has absolutely nothing to do with the stock market. And I’m addicted.

Alexadex
runs like a stock market where you buy and sell shares. The price changes once a day. But the stock is in website traffic. They use Alexa’s ratings for traffic and update each evening with new prices. I’ve only done it for one day and already I’m very addicted.
I’d imagine the real stock market with real money would be far more addicting then this.

Well, it’s fun for now. Want to join me?

ideas keep me up at night

So, sometimes I have an idea and I can write it down and forget about it. Other times it keeps me up and so antsy I get kicked out of bed (actually encouraged lovingly to pursue my ideas; I love my wife). But sometimes I don’t know when to stop.

I had this idea to make a digg like site for articles and sites about fair trade and conscience consumerism. It seems like it would be a great way to keep things up-to-date and find relavent articles that suit people’s interest. So I found a clone of digg and tried to upload it. Turns out I can’t in a subdirectory so I went searching for a free webhost with mySql. No luck with that so two hours later I’m still where I started.

The idea still stands, but I’m going to have to wait till they update the web code before I can do it. Stay tuned.

Fair Trade interviews in the works

I just got off the phone with Eric at Justice Clothing. I’ll be interviewing him next week and I’ll post it as a podcast for others to listen to.
My main goal in interviewing fair trade organizations is to spread the word about companies that take human rights into concern when they do business. There are people out there and companies that care about more then the bottom line.

If anyone has any suggestions for questions to ask when I interview people I’d be glad to hear it. Also, if you have any questions or suggestions about making information about conscience consumerism more prevelant please let me know.

AND, if for some reason you are having trouble posting comments on this site, PLEASE let me know: ariahfine@gmail.com
