I was reading this book, Mere Discipleship, recently and it was explaining how after Christianity became the majority religion, that's when people began interpreting things to be "not for us today," and that only "some" are called, like your talking about. It was quite interesting and makes a lot of sense.

Ariah,

This is such an inspiring thing to think about. :)

I've discussed this idea with other like-minded people before, and we've all pretty much agreed that things could change drastically if we were ALL living like we actually believed the things in the Bible. It really hits home, though, when you look at numbers like that and realize the massive kingdom-shift that's well within our grasp.

We just have to act on it, ya know? I think everyone likes to make excuses why it's not practical, or why these scriptures are "not for us today", or that only *some* are called to live so sacrificially... but just imagine if we all took that leap of faith, made the decision, started walking it out, living differently as of tomorrow, the change that could take place in one single day is insane. Think about the effects of this lifestyle in one whole month...

Amazing!!!
