Orangutan Loses Piccolo on International Basket-Weaving Tour

25 October 2007 7 Comments

First of all, where’s all my commenter’s at? I’ve noticed a steep decline in commenting since returning to blogging, and I’m hoping that just means your not commenting, but still reading. (FREE iTunes downloads for you if you comment on this post!*) This post only gets coole…

Now that I have even more of your attention, may I remind you that it’s extremely easy to subscribe to this blog (one email a day in your inbox or a post on your feed reader). And it makes me feel loved.

You can subscriber right over here (this is an arrow) ———————>>>>>>>>>

As you can tell from the title, I’m feeling rather random today. For my personal update blog (mostly for friends and family) I use the strategy of a bulleted list to update on everything, poignant and random, so here’s a list for you:

  • I’m rather disinterested in politics at the moment (possibly spurred on by Boyd).
  • I’m a stay-at-home dad, though I haven’t decided if I like the title. I prefer Community Organizer.
  • Minneapolis is going to be a wonderful home. Now if only we can find a home there.
  • Topics I’m interested in at the moment: parenting, race, Hip Hop, Community development, cooking and adoption.
  • Recent attempts at writing a book have fallen short, so has motivation for publishing articles, blogging remains an enjoyable hobby.
  • Interesting titles attract more readers, and so do interesting writers, maybe someday I’ll be the latter [my college writing professor critiqued my writing, saying I set my reader up for a seven course meal {i.e. great introduction} and then served them a small platter of peas {the rest of my writing sucked}, I don't know if that's changed]
  • lists are cool.

Here’s me, attempting to be a creative photographer, taking a picture of my adorable kid, when we hung out at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

The image “http://data.tumblr.com/16739499_400.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

I have a moleskine. My brother gave it to me in hopes that I would become half the creative genius that he is (that’s not what he said, it’s what I asked). Unfortunately, it’s mostly just served as a reference for driving directions and phone numbers, and an occasional ToDo list. Hipster I am not.

I’m sure your bored by the randomness, so here is a video to top it all off:

*Basically, I’ll tell you how to get five free song downloads.

I don’t want the free song downloads. All I ask is that you write an actual news story based on this blog’s title…as much depth and details as possible, and a twist at the end would be nice. I’ll repeat it just to make it easier for you. And the headline reads…

“Orangutan Loses Piccolo on International Basket-Weaving Tour”

Now write, write like the wind.

An assignment for your obviously bored yet chipper personality today, from your NEW professor, Dr. Burt. Due tomorrow. :)

I always have so many things in my pockets that there’s not room to carry around a moleskin. It’s one of my deep regrets in life. I already know how to get the free songs, so don’t worry about sharing that info :o) Maybe I should spend some time making up fake Facebook accounts and getting tons of free songs. I love the picture by the way.

It was the piccolo that drew me in… can’t resist a good piccolo. ;)

I read your blog on a feed, and that’s why I don’t comment often (um… maybe less than often). Hugely interested in what you’re saying, but very lazy about clicking through to comment. Sorry. Maybe more piccolo…
