Trying to follow

In 2005 I had the opportunity (multiple ones) to write articles for Relevantmagazine.com. I really enjoyed it and it was a chance to see what writing on deadlines and for a professional media company was like. I enjoyed the discussion that came from the articles and the audience that had the chance to read them.

I’ve had problems with Relevant magazine, but I feel like the audience they are reaching is the same audience I would like to reach, so as they gave me opportunity I wrote. Below is links to the images of each article, and below that are the links to the actual articles. If you want feel free to take some time to read the articles. Hopefully you find they stay true to my passions and not just me catering to the Relevant crowd.

The year concluded with another exciting development, my article (edited by Jesse Carey) about New Year’s Resolutions was the featured article on the email newsletter, 850 words of Relevant.

We interrupt are regularly schedule thought bubble for an attempt at blogosphere interaction. I was tagged by Vegankid to write a story in six words. Seeing as I’m hosting a blog carnival* on Saturday I figured I better give in to this “tagging” concept and try my hand at a six word story…

*The Blog Carnival on Saturday will basically be one blog post were I highlight a bunch of Blog post from other bloggers concerning the topic of racism. It should be a really interesting post so hopefully you’ll find it useful.

As you can see, most of you don’t mind more posts. For the few that do only want one a day I’m going to try and figure out and show you a way to subscribe to just one.

Now, this doesn’t mean I will necessarily post more then once a day, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t imposing too much on you if I do. For those that receive the email update this shouldn’t be a problem at all since it automatically puts each days posts (one or more) into one email. So it shouldn’t be anymore clutter then normal.

One of the things I’m hoping to do is post more of my podcasts within the blog so that folks who don’t come to the site have a chance to listen to and discuss them. I’ll also post links to interesting articles and other items I’ve read.

Wow, I’ve really been neglecting my writing. The crazy thing about it for me is that I recognize how important and theraputic and helpful it is for me to write. I’ve had all these ideas and thoughts inside my head and I haven’t taken the time to write many of them down. I like putting them on the blog because it encourages me to think further about them.
Sometimes I forget about things I wanted to write, other times, like now, they bang around in my head for weeks till I finally sit down and punch them out. These might be short post here, but hopefully I can get my thoughts out well either way. I know your not interested in a post like this anyways.

So, a brief glance over my recent post shows I’ve been watching a little too much TV.

Sure, I’ve been watching things of my choosing on my computer at the times I want to, but I probably need to do a bit more thinking and commentary on my own.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the clips I’ve shared. Let me know if you want me to continue sharing them, or if your more interested in writing then watching.

I’ll still have more clips I’ll send your way at some point, but I’m gonna try and tone down the day to day stuff (especially the political stuff). So if your interested in what I laugh at, it’s The Daily Show, but I won’t post much more about it.

Lot’s more posts to come, I’ve got time on my hands to write, so I’m gonna try to do as much as I can.
